Michael K. Darby, 61, of Kansas City, passed away May 18, 2017. He was born in Kansas City, MO on September 30, 1955, to Charlie and Bonnie Darby.

Mike went to school at Visitation and later graduated from Rockhurst High School. He attended Mizzou, and was a lifetime Tiger fan. He was a charter member of the Tuesday night card group, an avid lover of dogs, and co-owner of Coach's Bar & Grill with Chrissy for the past 34 yrs. Michael K. Darby, 61, of Kansas City, passed away May 18, 2017. He was born in Kansas City, MO on September 30, 1955, to Charlie and Bonnie Darby.

Mike went to school at Visitation and later graduated from Rockhurst High School. He attended Mizzou, and was a lifetime Tiger fan. He was a charter member of the Tuesday night card group, an avid lover of dogs, and co-owner of Coach's Bar & Grill with Chrissy for the past 34 yrs. During his "semi-retirement", Mike enjoyed his time as the Mayor of Sagamore, cycling, breakfast with his nine grandchildren, and tipping people in $2 bills.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Aucoin Darby, and his brother David Darby.

Mike's loved ones who are continuing to enjoy the ride are: his mother, Bonnie Jean Darby; son, Brian (Kristie) Darby; daughter Alison (Corey) Boddicker; daughter Jennifer (Kevan) O'Shea; nine grandchildren; beloved dogs Coach and Sadie; siblings Susan (Don) Curless, Bob (Diane) Darby, Bill (Michelle) Darby, and Liz (Rick Rumford) Darby; and countless employees he considered as family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 22, at Church of the Ascension, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be Sunday evening, May 21, 6:30-8:30p.m., at the Church. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m.
