Obituary


Michael A. Largo, 85, of Kansas City, MO passed away Monday January 8, 2018. Rosary Recitation will be at 5:30 p.m. followed by visitation from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 12 at St. Catherine of Siena Church located at 4101 East 105th Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64137. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the church with the burial including full military honors following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery located at 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO 64138.

Michael A. Largo, 85, of Kansas City, MO passed away Monday January 8, 2018. Michael was born in Kansas City to Marguerite and Nunzio Largo. He was the youngest of two sons. His brother, Theodore passed away in 1955. He graduated from Glennon High School in 1951. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Marie Harrington, on April 19, 1952 lasting for 58 years. He served in the Air Force, was a R&R Dispatcher, and an Air Traffic Controller. He worked until his retirement from GSA. He was active in his church, as well as a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, Jaycees, youth coaching, and a high school intercollegiate sports officiant.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, godfather, uncle, cousin and friend to many. Michael's wife Patricia predeceased him in 2010. Michael is survived by his children, Deborah Largo-Mesley and her husband George, Ted Largo and wife Deborah Jean, Cherie King and her husband Michael, Sandie Hoy and her husband Doug, Michelle Poerstel and her husband Bill; eight grandchildren, Janette Poerstel, Katie Handy and spouse Lawrence, Samie Swinton and spouse Mike, Sarah King and Michelle King, Neil Hoy and Ross Hoy and spouse Cherry, and Michael Mesley; and three great-grandchildren: Bailey, Olivia, and Brayden.

Michael will be greatly missed and those who loved him will take comfort in his example of a life well lived. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Catherine of Siena Food Pantry and Community Assistance.
